DALLAS, March 16, 2015, Amy J. Wolthoff, MD, Physician and Founder of Highland Dermatology, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

With six years of invaluable contributions to the field of health care, Amy J. Wolthoff, MD, has achieved professional success as a physician and founder of Highland Dermatology. A renowned dermatology practice, the company provides the highest quality of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services. Throughout the course of her impressive career, Dr. Wolthoff has attained unmatched knowledge in the areas of acne, skin cancer screenings and surgery, cosmetics, and eczema. She is also proficient in psoriasis, fillers, Botox, lasers and chemical peels. The full-service practice officially opened on Jan. 29, 2015. Dr. Wolthoff’s clinical interests include wound care and healing, diabetes immunosuppressive effects/delayed healing, prevention/detection of skin cancers, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic procedures, lasers, preventative medicine, health administration and patient education.

Dr. Wolthoff received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and pre-med from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 and went on to earn an MD from the UT Health Science Center in 2009. While in medical school, Dr. Wolthoff was the founder of the Student Run Skin Clinic in San Antonio, Miles for Melanoma project and the Sun Protection Project. She was also the founder and president of the Dermatology Interest Group at the university. Dr. Wolthoff completed her internship year of Internal Medicine at Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. She then joined the Department of Dermatology at the Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, where she received the Resident Leadership Award for recognition in superior leadership qualities, professionalism, teamwork and dedication to the residency program. During her final year of residency, she served as chief dermatology resident, completing her residency program in June 2013.

Dr. Wolthoff has been published in various medical journals, including a Comprehensive Citation Factor in the European Journal of Dermatology. She is a member of the Dermatology Foundation, the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Pediatric Dermatology Society and the Texas Dermatology Society. In recognition of her many significant accomplishments, Dr. Wolthoff has recently been inducted into the Worldwide Registry. Notably, Dr. Wolthoff has been the recipient of the Top 10 Doctor by City Award in 2014, as well as the Patients’ Choice Award in 2013 and 2014. Also, in 2013 and 2014, she was named Compassionate Doctor. A compassionate individual, Wolthoff also volunteers her time with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and also offers free skin screenings. In five years, Dr. Wolthoff intends to expand her practice and build upon her level of professional excellence.
