Edwin E. Wright III has been representing clients in the areas of personal injury and trial law for close to four decades. Known throughout the Gainesville area for his empathetic nature and assertive courtroom approach, he has met with success because of his passion for gaining restitution for his clients. He understands that personal injuries dramatically alter one’s everyday life. “Being of assistance and helping my clients is my drive. It gives me a purpose to my life and my career,” he stated.
Mr. Wright is board-certified in both civil trial and personal injury law. Through his work with the firm Sullivant, Wright & Brinkley, LLP, he strives to provide clients, be they plaintiffs or defendants, with exceptional legal representation at a reasonable cost. To date, he estimates that he has tried more than 250 jury trials on cases ranging from civil rights to legal and medical malpractice.
Mr. Wright graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in government and business from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a full athletic scholarship and served as captain of the school’s track team for two years. He then received a JD from The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Law and became licensed to practice in the State of Texas in 1977.
He began his legal career with Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, a large defense firm in Dallas, Texas. Five years later, he left to establish a firm with two colleagues and continued practicing in Dallas for the majority of his career. Recently, Mr. Wright relocated back to his hometown of Gainesville, Texas, where he enjoys having the opportunity to better connect with his clients given the area’s less hectic pace.
Mr. Wright is affiliated with the Dallas, Texas and American Bar Associations and previously served as president of the Dallas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Furthermore, Mr. Wright is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Dallas Bar Foundation. He has lectured on litigation issues and is a skilled mediator.
