Mark L. Wood, MD, FAAOS, Recognized by Worldwide Registry for Excellence in Orthopedics

RALEIGH, NC, April 19, 2016, Mark L. Wood, MD, Founding Member of Wake Orthopaedics, has been named a Worldwide Registry Professional of the Year in Orthopedics. While inclusion in Worldwide Registry is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Registry membership.

About Mark L. Wood:

Each day, Dr. Wood serves multiple administrative roles that are focused on the patient and family-centered care approach. His goal is to create the highest quality and best patient experience at the lowest cost of care in the region.

Dr. Wood is board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and he is also certified in orthopaedic sports medicine. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship in general surgery and earned an MD. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from NC State University.

Dr. Wood is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and he is counted as a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In 2014, he was named as one of the Top 10 Doctors in the City of Raleigh and one of the Top 10 Doctors in the Metro Area. He has also earned an On-Time Doctor Award, a Most Compassionate Doctor Recognition, and a National Institute of Health Research Award.
